ECBC/Euromoney Covered Bond Congress
Bringing together issuers, investors, intermediaries and policymakers from the industry, the Euromoney/ECBC congress is well-established and considered one of the most important covered bond events. This year’s congress explored trends in the global covered bond market as the industry prepare for the implementation of the covered bond directive, the end of the ECB purchase programme and adapt to political uncertainty in Europe.
The Nordea Experience
These and other matters were discussed at Nordea’s stand at the congress whilst visitors were given a Virtual Reality experience out of the ordinary. The experience encouraged delegates to take a virtual elevator 40 stories up, and the walk a narrow plank. This challenged a natural fear of heights, but with a helping hand delegates was led through the experience. The theme of the experience was ‘trust’ and how a helping hand can establish ‘trust” necessary to overcome a challenge, in this case an imaginary one.
During the congress an impressive 309 delegates tried the virtual reality experience. Nordea wish to thank all congress delegates for taking the time to stop by our stand and engage with us.
The bond congress of 2019 celebrated the 250th year of the covered bond market and to note this milestone, we tried to give the delegates an experience worth remembering”
Anna-Sara Pietilä, senior sales manager, Rates International.
At the congress, Nordea was represented by a full Nordic team covering all aspects of debt financing and Nordic Covered Bonds. Nordea’s Nordic Covered Handbook may be requested here.
